Critique
Sunday 8th July 2018 Judge – Colin Terry (Shaggylands)
Firstly, I would very much like to thank the committee of the East Anglian OES club for inviting me to judge their open show, I was immensely pleased with my entry of 39 dogs and thoroughly enjoyed my day.
I would particularly like to thank all the exhibitors who stayed on after the Championship show and allowed me the privilege of going over their dogs. I am so aware that most you had been on the showground from early in the morning and with temperatures getting close to 90 degrees during the afternoon I know how tempting it must have been to pack up and go, so thanks again to you all.
I would also like to thank Ellen Wheeler who was stewarding for the first time and did a great job.
Regarding the dogs, overall the dogs were presented in a clean, well-groomed condition and oral hygiene was good. I was pleased to see so many dark, fully pigmented eyes, as in recent years eyes were tending to get lighter and lack pigmentation. I was particularly impressed with coat quality; generally, coats were clear and of good texture. However, movement was not great on the day, but I put that down to the hot conditions, having said that there were some exceptions which was pleasing to see.
go over. Good head, the darkest of eyes with good pigment and nice expression. Good neck into well placed shoulders, good depth of brisket, short and square, good rear end and good angulation. Good bone yet still feminine. Clear jacket with good texture, moved well.
